Twenty AEDs donated to communities across the country to protect young hearts from sudden cardiac arrest
FRANKLIN, Tenn., March 25, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Coro Medical, a leader in life-saving medical devices, is proud to announce a new partnership with Simon’s Heart as part of its nationwide Project AED365 initiative. From February 23 through March 14, Coro Medical and Simon’s Heart donated 20 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to deserving organizations across the United States to help prevent sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) in young people.
Project AED365 is Coro Medical’s year-long commitment to enhancing public safety by donating one AED each day to communities, schools, and organizations that need them most. By partnering with Simon’s Heart—a nonprofit dedicated to preventing SCA in youth—this initiative aims to increase awareness, improve emergency preparedness, and place AEDs in spaces where children learn, play, and compete.
“As we celebrate 20 years since Simon’s passing, this generous support enables us to expand our life-saving mission,” said Alexis Simchak, Program Director of Simon’s Heart. “Each year, sudden cardiac arrest takes the lives of countless young people—lives that could often be saved with access to an AED. With Coro Medical’s partnership, we can continue to protect hearts and save lives, furthering Simon’s legacy and making a lasting impact.”
Founded in memory of Simon Sudman, who tragically passed away at just three months old from an undiagnosed heart condition, Simon’s Heart has spent the last two decades leading national efforts in heart screenings, AED donations, CPR education, and SCA awareness. To date, the organization has placed more than 500 AEDs, protected over 100,000 hearts in the past year alone, and successfully advocated for the adoption of best-practice SCA prevention policies in 18 states through the Smart Heart Sports Coalition.
“Simon’s Heart is an extraordinary organization that shares our passion for saving lives through awareness, education, and access to life-saving technology,” said Travis Harris, CEO, Coro Medical. “Through Project AED365, we are honored to work alongside them to make AEDs more accessible and ensure that communities across the country are prepared to respond in a cardiac emergency.”
Through partnerships with Coro Medical, each Project AED365 donation package includes the following life-saving supplies and resources: ZOLL AED 3 from ZOLL Medical, 3-years of AED365 Pro Program Management, one seat to HSI’s Remote Skills Verification Course, and one LifeVac anti-choking device.
